The Most Anticipated Weekend in LGBT Music and Entertainment
Takes Over Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS  (December 4, 2012) – Fine-tune your sensory apparatus and get ready to party hard during the most anticipated weekend in LGBT music and entertainment when the 8th Annual OUTMUSIC Awards rocks Las Vegas live from Planet Hollywood Resort & CasinoThe LGBT Academy of Recording Arts, for the first time ever, will present three days of the most astounding events and performances to honor the contributions and achievements of LGBT artists.  Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting OUTMUSIC Awards or Ticketmaster. Prices range from $31.00 to $81.00; Three-day event passes are also available. 

Celebrating the best recordings artists, performers and industry contributions in music each year with a message of inclusion, equality and freedom of expression, the OUTMUSIC Awards has become one of the most anticipated events in LGBT music and entertainment since its founding 22 years ago.

This year’s OUTMUSIC Awards will pay homage to seven outstanding individuals who have positively impacted the LGBT music industry and community. Honorees include Bishop Yvette Flunder (Heritage Award), Ari Gold (Visionary Award), Joey Arias (Lifetime Achievement Award), Diana King (Vanguard Award), Storme Delarverie (Living Legend Award), Labi Siffre (Spirit Award), and Jobriath (OUTMUSIC Icon Award).

NOTE:  ALL MEDIA must be credentialed to cover any events during the three-day leading up to the 8th Annual OUTMUSIC Awards.  To apply for credentials, please submit your request to the OUTMUSIC Awards Press Office no later than Tuesday, Dec.11.  Directions for requesting credentials can be found on at OUTMUSIC Awards.  Information on credential pickup will be given upon confirmation of credential status. 

Schedule of Events

Friday, Dec. 14
The weekend will begin with a VIP Welcome Reception at Krave Massive, starting at 7 p.m.

The Pre-OMA Awards Presentation
Awards in the categories not presented during Sunday’s show will be presented, starting at 8 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 15
Set to grace the stage in the Krave Massive VIP room for an intimate VIP Concert are former contestants from The Voice and Universal Republic recording artist Vicci Martinez and pop singer and Grammy®-nominated artist Frenchie Davis. Also performing are world-renowned Jamaican Reggae-Fusion superstar Diana King, former OMA Best R&B Recording artist winner and six-time OUTMUSIC Awards nominee NHOJJ, singer Matt Zarley and local Las Vegas Latino performer Giovanni Aguayo.

Sunday, Dec. 16
The 8th Annual OUTMUSIC Awards (starting at 8 p.m.) will take center stage live from PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The centerpiece performance of the night is a spectacular LGBT tribute performance by Vicci Martinez, Bishop Yvette Flunder, B Slade, Diana King, and Jason Walker with the Las Vegas Mass Choir.  Las Vegas luminary Lillian McMorris will serve as host of the biggest night in LGBT music and entertainment.  Red carpet opens at 5 p.m. and will end at 8 p.m.

The OUTMUSIC Awards After-Party Jam Session & Closing Party will take place immediately following the OUTMUSIC Awards at Sin City Live Music & Comedy Club located on the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino mezzanine level, with a live music jam session hosted by Las Vegas star Skye D Miles, who will be joined by some of the top entertainers starring in shows on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.
