Victor Eugene James Malin as born June 30th, 1908 in Brooklyn, New York to working class Polish and Lithuanian parents. As a teenager, Malin was winning prizes and recognition for his costumes at Manhattan Drag Balls in the 1920s. Malin's life took an interesting turn in 1930 when he took the stage as a tuxedo wearing, wise cracking emcee who was openly gay. Along with Karl Norman and Ray Bourbon, Malin created the Pansy Craze of 1930s speakeasies. Malin started the transition to Hollywood, having made only a few movies in which he had minor roles, before his early death at age 25.
